Can Sound Healing Mantra reach Ancestors, Departed Loved Ones, and our Future?

"Sound is how we touch the past, the future, and those unseen" - Anandra George

It happens often in our deep chant sessions that people FEEL their ancestors. It might sound mysto, but it happens often enough that I've come to trust it, and welcome the tingle when I can feel that connection happening for someone in the room.

Departed ones who have been yearning to connect with you, waiting for you to be listening and connecting through sound to the realms beyond the ordinary. Lineage healings, lineage blessings.

Sometimes it's a healing moment in the past, as an "a-ha" cascades into their heart, resolving a misperception that caused needless suffering. Suddenly finding "home" in the heart of sound, resolving tension like the notes in a musical scale.

Sometimes it's a glimpse into one's future, a heart-expanding vista of life purpose, future Self embodiment, a way of being that we're being shown how to resonate into (and the mantra is the path of connection to that now-tangible future)

If you're chanting mantra or kīrtan, or using sacred sound in any way but are not yet consistently accessing the "tryambakam" or "3 eyed one that sees past present future" place of awareness in yourself, just know that it IS available to you.

And it's pretty awesome to not have it be a mystery, or random, or dependent on someone else or a psychoactive plant chemical to get you there.

Sound & Mantra for Ancestral Healing

The main shift required to access the potential for lineage connection is LISTENING. Cultivate a sense of listening throughout your chant practice, and curate pauses in the "doing" for long enough to settle into "being."

You'll find that the inner nudges that prompt your intuition are not far away at all. You probably just haven't been paying enough attention!

If you've lived in indigenous communities, you know that the pace of life is slower and rich with listening. We wait for Life to talk to us, guide us, teach us. We're not bored with the pauses, the silence. We know that the space between is rich and holds the mysteries that our ordinary busy mind and bodies can't fathom.

In this way, mantra and sound yoga practices can be a practice to cultivate an honest, unfussy relationship with listening awareness.
