WAY more than a singing lesson, 1-on-1 voice training with Anandra explores cultivating a more musical way of being in the world.

"For me this journey of sound has opened new channels into the self. It has given me a new language of expression, and helped me grow as a person. It is not just about the special moments and experiences, it also presents a broader approach to life and living."

FAQ: What's the difference between Vocal Life Coaching & Mentorship?

These sessions differ from Mentorship (either Group or Private) in that they're centered around the practical application of your voice, singing, and musical skills. You will be singing and/or doing musical skills during the Vocal Life Coaching session time.

During Mentorship sessions you will be listening, talking, unpacking, strategizing, reflecting on a systemic level.

Furthermore, Vocal Life Coaching sessions are 30 minutes each, with a recommended frequency of every 2-4 weeks, and Mentorship sessions are 90 minutes, with a recommended frequency of every 1-2 months.

Please give 24 hours notice if you need to reschedule your appointment.

If you give less than 24 hours notice of a change more than once, you will be charged for the session.

Sessions will take place via ZOOM video (or audio-only, if internet connectivity is an issue).

If the Mp3 is important to you, only ZOOM sessions can be reliably recorded.

If ZOOM doesn't work, alternately we can use Facetime, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, or telephone (in the US). However, these alternate connection methods can't be recorded and you won't get an Mp3 to download after the session.

Please indicate your recording preference to Anandra.

Option 1: You record on your own device.

Option 2: Anandra records in the Heart of Sound ZOOM room, it's automatically uploaded to the cloud, and you're sent an email with a link to download that'll expire within 15 days.

If you'd like to keep it forever, you'll need to download the recording within 15 days or it'll automatically be deleted.

Please note that our admin team has access to the ZOOM cloud space so your session may be accidentally seen/heard by our staff. Privacy cannot be guaranteed in Option 2.

No. While you're welcome to schedule additional private time with Anandra if you're a course student, mentorship sessions are not required.

Yes. If you're a registered yoga teacher and need to claim continuing education, at the end of the year you may submit 6-12 hours of training on your Yoga Alliance account.

No.

You're welcome to refer friends to private sessions with Anandra. (They don't need to be Heart of Sound students.) However, unlike our many Heart of Sound courses where affiliates can earn cash or credit, private sessions are not eligible. No payments will be made for referrals, nor can accrued affiliate program credits be used towards private sessions.

No; people from all types of background are welcome.

Yes, most likely.

You'll want to double-check with your tax preparer, but if you are in the wellness industry this course would probably be considered continuing education for professional development and be 100% deductible.

Since Anandra started teaching mantra globally in 2009, she has been living extensively in India. When profits exceed expenses, funds have been used to directly support numerous educational and social service projects in India. The Heart of Sound teacher training was also designed as an instrument to perpetuate legacy: it supports her music Guruji and his senior students to continue their musical tradition (both financially and via new student referrals).

After factoring in annual basic business expenses and modest admin + teaching salaries, our end-of-year statement usually works out to show a very small profit. (For instance, in 2019, it was $7,329.). However, we're grateful we've been able to continue to serve due to a combination of frugal management, barter, and extensive volunteer support.

Our hope is that the new online era of teaching will enable us to share the sound-based practices with more students worldwide and increase our ability to offer more scholarships as well as grow our service projects like Mantras for Peace and the Sacred Sound Stage. (To get involved, contact [email protected] to volunteer)

In each course, there's a Pay it Forward section where you can go to find out more about the specific India service projects.

If you'd feel safer to have more detailed financial transparency, you're welcome to contact us.
